If you are like most people, you are staring at the picture trying to figure out how we did this. Its pretty amazing actually. First, we used the BC Spa Resurface Multi-Acid Resurfacing Peel and we let it sit on the face for 20 minutes. Then, we used the BC Spa Resurface Microderm® Abrasion for Face right on top of it. In 30 minutes, we took this face from picture 1 to picture 3. You can still see some the acne scars but this is expected when you have only done one treatment.
In case you are not familiar with these two treatments, the chemical peel and microdermabrasion are commonly used in most day spas. Both treatments can improve the skin's appearance. Chemical peels are most commonly done on the face, hands, and neck. We run to the chemical peel when we are dealing with fine lines, wrinkles, acne, age spots, and scars to name a few. You simply apply the peel to a clean face. Depending on the strength of the peel, you can treat the skin every 1-4 weeks. In the case of the peel that is used in the picture, it is mild enough to be used once or even twice weekly depending on your skin. Chemical peels exfoliate the skin "chemically." Microdermabrasion exfoliates the skin as well. It just exfoliates "physically." Most people don't realize that if you are using a home microdermabrasion system or receiving the treatment in a professional setting, the principle and effects are the same. When you break down the stratus corneum, your skin will produce new cells. It will heal itself because it looks at the treatment, almost as if it is an injury, to the face. It's a pretty cool way to trick the skin into behaving like it did when you were younger. In the picture, we treated with the BC Spa Resurface Microderm® Abrasion by placing the aluminum oxide crystals on the face. This patented formula is the same that is used in professional settings. Microdermabrasion is also perfect for wrinkles, scars, large pores, and helping improve the overall look of the skin.
Personally, I use these two treatments twice a week. My skin can handle it and needs it. I am acne prone. Most people don't believe this but its true. My Ansbach, Germany people can tell you so. In high school, I was told to drink more water. That did not work. Wash your face more often Yahrasiel. Well, I was washing my face. My mother was my first esthetician. I am laughing because she was far from one. She just believed that the best thing for my skin was to pop my pimples and wipe my face down with alcohol or with hazel. Ouch! Yes it was painful.
