Unwrap the gift already!

 

I saw this picture and it made me think about people and their gifts. I really believe that God puts burning desires in our hearts that we just can't shake. I also believe that He gives the same desires to others and it is key to come together with those who have similar interests and make the best of it all. Think about those with musical talents. When a band or quartet comes together, it's an awesome sound! I know that one of my gifts is in education. I run a leadership academy but I am nothing without my awesome staff. They each work in their gifts and together we run an A+ program. Many people get so tainted by the media and other things, that they lose site of the true purpose of their talents. I had a talk with a lady and she has a fire in her to help those in her community who may have fallen on hard times. She has great ideas so I told her about an amazing organization that does exactly what she wants to do. It seems that she is a perfect fit. However, she is so caught up with being an "entrepreneur" and having her "own." She is constantly hitting walls with getting this non profit off the ground. In the meantime, her gifts are just being waisted. She isn't helping anyone. 
I also see this with business owners. I see people start businesses left and right just because they think that they can or because they saw someone else doing it. It can actually hurt an industry because you are not staying in your proper lane. I think of all of the "bad" beauty consultants who have stolen from people, treated them poorly, given horrible customer service, and even gave bad beauty advice and products. These people have made it difficult for people to even let me tell them what I do. I'm sure some of you reading this can think of others who have hurt your industry. I want to challenge us all to take a good look at ourselves. It's time for mid year self-evaluation. 

Are you using your God given gifts?

Have you allowed yourself to be tainted by the glimmer and glam of the world that you've lost sight of your purpose?

What's holding you back from being excellent?

Are you doing that one thing that you can't shake from your mind, body and soul?

Are you happy?

Are others benefitting from your gifts?

Have you unwrapped your gift yet?


Tonight, after you wash your face (you guys know me by now) and use your moisturizer, take some time to pray and meditate on your gifts. Tomorrow, start using them to the max!
